A Tibetan Hamlet

Majnu ka Tilla is rich in history and culture and is a hub for food and shopping. Set amidst a busy area in the north of Delhi, it gives us a feeling that transports us away from Delhi into a small town somewhere in Tibet. The music, the slow chanting sounds accompany it along with the aroma of delicious freshly cooked Tibetan street food.

This place is a delight for those interested in shopping trinkets and home decor when we visit the stalls and curio shops. We will be walking just along the length of a narrow alley which is the main market set up primarily by Tibetans. The place has a small monastery at the centre. Photographers will be thrilled to find colourful background. Since I click considerably good photos, so happy pictures are complimentary!

P.S. Foodies will find a treat at Majnu ka Tilla however the food cost isn’t included in the experience.

Nandini also hosts Janpath: Array of Handicrafts.
