The Girgaon Chronicles

Explore the sweet ironies of the ever-changing Mumbai landscape with a leisurely stroll through the old quarters of Girgaon. Perpetually involved in some festival or the other, tradition stands out as one takes each step forward in this time machine of sorts. While the old tenements give a feel of the colonial yesteryears, the new towers standing right beside them speak volumes about the near future.

As one moves along one also gets introduced to the various communities of Mumbai that have shaped and enriched its landscape in the fields of art, culture, religion, philosophy business etc. In this process, they have left several imprints in the form of temples, churches, old buildings, fire temples, lanes and alleys (where each lane has a history of its own) and above all the so-called cosmopolitan ‘Bambaiyya’ culture as we know it today.
