You think we would be sleeping but how can we? I woke up around 5:00 am, finished the morning chores and left home when it was still dark as if I were going hunting. Picked up a bunch of hand-made badges and accessories from a friend along the way. Another pitstop at Sion to pick up a friend and off we go to Girgaon Chowpatty.

The sun was up now and surprisingly, the air was cold. The team was on the ground, everything was in place and we thought, let’s not even give them the first clue. However, so as to not delay them at the beginning, we handed them the first clue together. All the formalities were finished with laughing faces and at the count of zero all of them dispersed and Compass 2018 was on.

Compass Clue Hunt 2017

Thought we should all head for breakfast and then wait at the end location of the Clue Hunt. However, soon we realized a couple of teams were way fast than we expected. Few of them would get lost in the middle as usual but to find that the teams were battling head to head for a number of positions like in Formula 1. The teams at first 3 positions were constantly matching up each other while teams at 6, 7, 8 and 9 were also keeping up among themselves. Also, every team was thinking they are in the lead and we couldn’t resist laughing.

Compass Clue Hunt 2017

After few minutes of us relaxing, we were again on the move because a couple of teams were closing in. At the end location, 2 teams reached back to back and were confused who won. But well, then they ran all around the place to find us which was their last task. Mind, we were hiding in plain sight.

Winners and Runner-ups were given exclusive prizes that they would cherish for a long time. As well as all the participants who finished the Clue Hunt were presented with gifts. And after hours of running, not a single person seemed tired, it was as if they were actually ready for another round. We took our time to enjoy the moment and were glad to know that everyone learned so much about the city’s heritage. Plus, the satisfaction that it was interesting and would stay with them for a long time.

I must say, we spent more hours making the clues easy for participants than their actual creation. But not in 2018. We said, let’s show them the BEST (pun intended) we got.

Compass Clue Hunt 2018 aimed to educate everyone about the rich culture and heritage of Fort area in South Mumbai and expose themselves to the world of public transport. And bet you would get lost in your city. Join in the challenge in the next edition of #FindingFort.
